J. Bradley Cockrell is a Lafayette criminal defense attorney. He has practiced law since 1991 when he began his legal career in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee with the law firm of Freeman and Hillhouse. After two years in Tennessee, Brad and his wife Karen decided it was time to head back home to the home state of Louisiana. In 1993, Brad was licensed as am attorney in Louisiana and started the Law Firm of J. Bradley Cockrell in Lafayette, Louisiana.
Since opening his law office in Lafayette in 1993, Brad has handled both civil and criminal cases. In 1998, Brad started limiting his practice to criminal defense, both felony and misdemeanor. Since that time, Brad has handled criminal cases of all kinds in all areas of the State. Brad has also handled criminal cases in Tennessee and Texas.
Brad received his undergraduate degree in 1988 from the University of Southwestern Louisiana, now UL Lafayette. Thereafter, Brad received his Juris Doctorate degree from Mississippi College School of Law in Jackson, Mississippi.
Brad has over 30 years of legal experience in criminal defense. He is dedicated to standing up for the people he represents.
